Equitable Giving Circle - Help Make an Impact in the BIPOC Community
Equitable Giving Circle is a Black women + femme led organization aiming to make large economic deposits into the BIPOC economy while also encouraging community healing and immediate impact.
EGC was founded in spring 2020 with the intention of bringing immediate impact to the local BIPOC Community. To date through our three branches of work: housing, food, and wellness we have served over 25K BIPOC community members in the Portland metro area.
Currently we are serving 325 BIPOC families with weekly produce boxes, pantry items, and monthly proteins via direct home delivery. We have been working with these families for over a year and have not interrupted service through fires, snow, or heat waves. We have just started to pilot a weekly walk in pantry that we hope can expand to a free store, open 5 days a week. Our weekly produce is purchased from local BIPOC Farmers so our impact hits twice. We are supporting the community while recirculating dollars in our community.
Over the past year and a half we have served 60 families with 3 month emergency rent/mortgage grants. Provided backpacks with supplies to over 500 students, supplied new clothes to over 500 children, sent out over 1500 care packages, and redistributed over 17K plants to the community. We have hosted multiple large scale community events and have also host 2 different monthly education series to help promote anti-racist education and growth within our larger city community.
EGCs team is based and rooted in the community and we also work with over 30 other CBOs to connect with community members and deepen the network of care we provide.

We are looking to raise a few million dollars in the next few months to expand the work and reach. The need is ever growing and this model is a true pathway to liberation.
