Share your thoughts with Metro about draft regional transportation investment priorities
Metro is working with local governments and other transportation agencies to update the Regional Transportation Plan. The plan guides investments for all forms of travel – driving, transit, biking and walking – and the movement of goods and services throughout the greater Portland region for the next 22 years.
Transportation agencies across the region have drafted a list of priority transportation investments. This includes projects like building new sidewalks, bikeways, roads, trails, highways, bridges, bus and light rail lines and stations. The project list includes priority projects that are included in local, regional, and state plans.
Projects you care about in your neighborhood or local business districts may need regional or federal funding, so making sure that the regional plan has the right priorities can help make sure that funding is available.
Share your thoughts about the draft investment priorities by taking Metro's online survey, now through May 1.
The survey asks for your prioritization of five different goals to accomplish in the next 5-10 years and to rate the importance of a variety of different types of investments from cleaning bike lanes to supporting carpool and vanpool services. It also includes a map of transportation projects that have been prioritized for the next 22 years in the greater Portland region. These projects fit within the constrained budget of federal, state, and local funds that the region can expect to have available through 2045 under current funding trends. In the survey, you'll be able to "yes" or "no" and comment on these individual projects as you learn about them.
Your input will be shared with Metro Council and other regional decision-makers to help guide transportation investments in greater Portland. Thank you for your help shaping the 2023 Regional Transportation Plan.
