The Boise Neighborhood Parking Management Plan is starting!

In 2019, the Boise Neighborhood Association asked the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) to create a long-range, comprehensive parking management plan to address the parking issues in their growing community. PBOT started this work in early 2020 but it was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. PBOT's parking operations staff are working with a consultant team to develop a planning process with the community. The planning process will take about 18-20 months and will begin this spring. This timeframe will allow for many different opportunities to hear from people and groups that are connected to this community. You can learn more here.

How you can get involved:

1. Apply for the Stakeholder Advisory Committee

Starting now, PBOT is accepting applications for volunteers from the community to serve on the Stakeholder Advisory Committee to guide the entire planning process. We are looking for a diverse set of lived experiences and perspectives that represent the neighborhood's residents, business owners and employees, community members, congregants, and visitors. The committee will meet about once a month starting April 2023 through approximately June 2024.  Applications for this volunteer position will be accepted through Feb. 28th. 2. Sign up for the email list

Signing up to receive emails about this project is the easiest way to stay informed and learn about opportunities to get involved. Emails will include details and materials for upcoming stakeholder advisory committee meetings. These meetings will be open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend and provide comment. Emails will also provide regular project updates and announcements for other community engagement opportunities like open houses, surveys, and listening sessions through the process.

3. Help us organize a listening session or focus group meeting

Are you a part of a community group, business association, church, school or just really passionate about parking and transportation? If so, please consider helping the project team coordinate a focus group meeting or listening session. This will be an opportunity for PBOT staff and consultants to hear directly from the community about issues related to this project. If you are interested in this opportunity or have questions, please email the project manager Kathryn.doherty-chapman@portlandoregon.gov.
